Ayodhya King: Lord Ram

It’s very painful to see many poeple misunderstand my Lord Ram. In the era where there’s a fiery yet meaningless fight to prove supremacy of Kabir, Allah, Jesus, or even Ram, over one another, we are losing the essence of life. We are losing the battle. We are losing Ayodhya, which literally means a city of No Conflict!

We know that Ram also left Ayodhya. To me, what did Ram personally gain? Nothing. He sacrificed his Right to become the King, then he sacrificed his people, his city Ayodhya. Then he sacrificed his beloved Sita. He sacrificed everything. Therefore, He is the everlasting embodiment of Sacrifice!

With the confidence or possibility of being labeled a misogynist, I would still like to elaborate one point that many label as a blot on Ram. Many people often think or feel sad about how Sita might have felt after Ram asks her to leave Him. Would anyone like to also think how Ram must have felt while asking Sita to leave Him?

Sita, at least for that one moment, thought of some thing to be more precious than Ram. I am talking about the golden deer. At this moment, Sita chose to leave Ram. She desired something to be worthier than Ram. Has Ram ever thought of anything else except Sita?

What is more praiseworthy? Abandoning what you love most (ego) for the sake of Higher Purpose (mind with no conflict, peace), OR Desiring or loving something other than Ram? One is physical abandonment while the other is coming from the mind.

Sita plays the role of Ego, whereas the Ram plays the role of Ram! Because there’s nothing else other than Himself! At some point in time, one has to sacrifice his ego identity to attain liberation, a state of no conflict! I explain my interpretation of Ramayana, which is my synthesis of many existing interpretations, here.

May everyone of us desire nothing other than Ram and reclaim, rule his lost space, the space of No Conflict, Ayodhya! May the World be peaceful!

I would like to sum up with a timeless Bhajan popularised by Mahatma Gandhi:

Ishwar Allah Tero Naam, Sab ko Sanmati De Bhagavana
Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram Patita Pavana Sita Ram!

Happy Ram Navami!
